CANDELIGHT VIGIL

WASHINGTON

President Bush is urging Americans to take time out to pray for their country.
He's designated Friday a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the victims of the terrorist attacks.
He's urging Americans to honor the victims with noontime memorial services, including the ringing of bells at that hour.
In addition, his proclamation calls for candlelight remembrance vigils in the evening.
The president is urging Americans to use their lunch hours to attend services.
The proclamation notes that scripture says, "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted."
